Digital Divide

The digital divide refers to the information gap between those with access to ICT (internet, smartphones) and those without. Age, income, location, and disability are contributing factors.

QR code proliferation has made this visible: QR-only restaurant menus exclude those without smartphones; cashless-only stores exclude cash users. Dual analog-digital approaches (paper menus alongside QR, cash alongside digital payment) and inclusive design are essential countermeasures.
