Information We Collect

All QR code generation is processed entirely in your browser. The content you enter for generation is never sent to our servers (except when you turn on the changeable-destination QR code or use QR Wait or QR Order, all described below).To keep your work from being lost when switching languages or reloading the page, the content you enter is temporarily stored only within your browser. This storage never leaves your device and is automatically cleared when you close the tab or browser. In addition, your QR code appearance settings (style presets) and your most-used tab type are stored only within your browser to make your next visit more convenient. The content of your QR codes is never stored. You can delete all of this data at any time from the Customize section of the generator.

However, when you submit feedback or an inquiry, we may obtain and store, along with its content, connection information (such as your IP address) and details about your environment (device, browser, screen size, language, time zone, and similar). This information is used to prevent abuse, improve quality, and identify the cause of issues. Connection information sent with feedback is converted into a form from which the original value cannot be recovered before being stored, and is automatically deleted after a certain period. When you send an inquiry, we record the sender's IP address and keep it to prevent and respond to abuse.

QR codes with a changeable destination

Only when you turn on “Let me change the destination later” for a URL QR code, the URL you entered is sent to miji.be, a short URL service run by the same operator, and a short URL is created. When it is off, nothing is sent, as before. Your owner key is stored only in this browser on this device and is sent to miji.be only to show scan counts and to change the destination. miji.be keeps a record of each scan (date and time, device information, referrer, country, and a value derived from the IP address that cannot be turned back into it) for 90 days, and only totals are returned to the “My QR codes” page.

QR Wait

QR Wait never asks guests for a name, phone number or email address. Registering a shop takes only a shop name, a language and the largest party size. If a shop sets an automatic closing time for the day, we store the time zone of the device that set it. Keys for check-ins and shop management are stored in your browser on your device; the server keeps only values transformed so they cannot be reversed.

To prevent abuse, we store only part of an irreversibly transformed value of each device's anonymous ID and of IP addresses. Check-in records are deleted automatically once 48 hours have passed, and shop settings once 365 days have passed since the last activity.

If you choose to receive call or check-in notifications, we use the subscription only to send those notifications. Subscriptions on staff devices are removed after 30 days.

QR Order

QR Order stores restaurant settings, order contents and a one-way hash of IP addresses used to prevent abuse. It doesn't collect guests' names and contact details. IP hashes are deleted within 4 days. Bills and orders are deleted within about 2 weeks of checkout (bills never checked out: of opening). Restaurant settings are deleted within about 14 months of last use.

Standard Browser Technologies

This site uses standard browser technologies through its analytics tools. These technologies are used to understand site usage and are not used to identify individuals. You can disable these technologies through your browser settings.

Analytics

This site uses analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. These tools may use standard browser technologies to collect access information, but no personally identifiable information is collected. Collected data is used solely for the purpose of improving the service. If your browser signals a tracking preference (Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control), the analytics tool is not loaded. For ad delivery, when such a preference is enabled, only non-personalized ads that are not based on browsing history are shown. These analytics and advertising technologies can also be disabled through your browser settings.

Advertising

This site may use advertising services provided by third-party vendors, including Google. These third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

If you prefer not to receive personalized advertising, you can opt out in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
