Domain Name

A domain name is a human-readable string that identifies a server on the internet, replacing IP addresses. Examples include example.com and qraft.cc. In QR code URLs, the domain is the first trust indicator users see.

After scanning a QR code, the displayed URL's domain is a basis for the user's trust judgment. Unlike a recognized domain (e.g., google.com), unfamiliar or deceptive domains (e.g., g00gle-login.com) suggest phishing. Since QR codes make URL pre-verification difficult, the domain can be checked only after scanning.

Longer domains increase data volume and code size. A custom short domain (e.g., qr.example.com) maintains brand consistency while reducing data. Converting domains to uppercase can allow Alphanumeric Mode in some cases, which improves efficiency.
