URL QR Code

A URL QR code is the most common type of QR code, storing a website address. When scanned with a smartphone, the browser automatically opens and displays the page. It is widely used on flyers, posters, and product packaging to bridge print media and online content.

Longer URLs result in larger QR codes, so URL shortening services are often used in combination. Storing a URL that begins with https:// encrypts the communication, but it does not guarantee that the destination itself is trustworthy: phishing sites use https too. To let people scan with confidence, keep your own domain visible in the URL.
