POS

POS (Point of Sale) is a system that records and manages sales information at the moment of transaction. POS terminals at supermarket and convenience store registers scan product barcodes, read prices, and aggregate sales data in real time. They support inventory management, bestseller analysis, and automated ordering.

POS systems can be integrated with QR code payments. In store-scan mode, a POS-connected scanner reads the customer's phone-displayed QR code for payment processing. POS integration automatically links product sales data with payment data, which can reduce manual entry errors.

Mobile POS systems based on tablets and smartphones (such as Square, Airレジ, and Smaregi) allow low-cost adoption in small shops. Unlike traditional fixed POS terminals, mobile POS can run on a tablet and card reader.
