Dark Mode

Dark mode uses dark backgrounds with light text and icons, reducing eye strain and battery consumption on OLED displays. All major operating systems support it natively.

QR codes rely on contrast between dark and light modules. On dark mode pages, the boundary between QR code white areas and dark backgrounds can become ambiguous, reducing scan accuracy.

Solutions include ensuring sufficient white quiet zones around QR codes and explicitly setting white backgrounds on QR code containers that resist dark mode CSS inversion. Inverted QR codes (light modules on dark backgrounds) blend naturally into dark mode but may not scan on older readers.
