Reed-Solomon Code

Reed-Solomon code is a type of error-correcting code used for QR code error correction. It was invented in 1960 by Irving Reed and Gustave Solomon.

It adds redundant information (parity) to data, enabling mathematical restoration of original data even when parts are lost or corrupted. Beyond QR codes, it is widely used in CDs/DVDs, satellite communications, and digital broadcasting.
