Quiet Zone

The quiet zone is the white margin that must be maintained on all four sides of a QR code. The standard requires at least 4 modules of margin for QR codes. Without this margin, scanners cannot distinguish the QR code boundary from the background, causing scan failures.

When placing QR codes on flyer or package designs, trimming margins to save space causes scanning errors. Always ensure sufficient margin around QR codes. If the background is not white, a white border must be added around the QR code.
