Denso Wave

Denso Wave Incorporated is the Japanese company that developed QR codes in 1994. A group company of automotive parts manufacturer Denso, it produces auto-ID equipment (barcode readers, QR code readers), industrial robots, and IoT devices.

While holding QR code patents, Denso Wave chose not to exercise them, contributing to QR codes' global adoption. Beyond the base QR code standard, they developed variants including SQRC, Frame QR, Micro QR Code, and rMQR Code. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of Denso Wave.
